Budding afro hip-hop music singer, Bright Edeki, known as ‘Brickz’, says his debut single, ‘Bounce’, is aimed at promoting happiness among his fans and society in general.

Edeki in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos, spoke on his journey into music and how versatility shaped his musical career.

“I broke into the over-saturated Nigerian music industry using my versatility. One day I’m expressing myself through songwriting, singing, and rapping, another day through beat making or producing.

“My entire life revolves around creativity and providing good value, I enjoy making people enjoy music and be happy,” he said.

Speaking on the inspiration behind his debut single, ‘Bounce’, he said, the song is a mix of dancehall and rap genre.

“I made the beat first and I got inspired to write the lyrics with the rhythm of the beat.

“Bounce is a club dance song, I just want everybody to feel the happy vibe by dancing away their stress and worries,“ he said.

“Music to me is my best means of communication. It’s a universal language that enables me to communicate with anybody regardless of where I come from.

“What I have for music is more than a calling, because it’s my passion and legacy,” he said.

According to him, while his debut single is currently trending, he is working on follow-up singles, featuring some of the most notable names in the industry.
