CCB Federal Commissioner Commends President Tinubu Over Naira Appreciation Against Dollar

...Says Governor Godwin Obaseki must Stop his Gangsterism against Oba of Benin

Following the fast appreciation of the Naira against the Dollar, the Federal Commissioner representing the South-South on the Board of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Hon. E. J. Agbonayima has commended President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt action.

While also acknowledging the bold effort of Mr. President in the economic reform, Hon. E.J. Agbonayima appealed to Nigerians to be a little patient with Tinubu's government.

"I must commend the effort of Mr. president. You can see that Dollar is dropping on a daily basis. I can assure you and Nigerians that the president will not rest until things are done right."

As one person that is very close to the Oba of Benin even before he became the Oba and a typical Benin man if he believed in balkanization of the Benin kingdom, bearing in mind that some people have taken the kingdom to the court to say that they must Balkanize the Benin kingdom, the former House of Representatives member said, "My dear brother, this is a slap, this is nothing but an evil thought and act, it is unacceptable to sons and daughters of the Benin kingdom.

"I have never seen such a thing since I was born. It is totally betrayal of the mandate given to my senior brother, the governor of Edo state his excellency Godwin Obaseki. With all due respect, I think he knows better that what he is doing is totally wrong, and what made me to be very angry is those sons and daughters of Benin around the governor who should know better and should be able to talk to him that what he is doing is wrong.

"To see that it is Edo sons, a governor of Edo state, who we are now going to be having to bastardize the kingdom that has been in existence before we were born, that the governor will now condescend low to say that the Benin kingdom, the number 1 kingdom in this country, that is known for a great name over the years, you as a Benin son, son of the earth, is now among those to derail the wheel of progress of the Benins, to dismantle what have been in existence before your great grandfathers were born. It’s a sin to God and mankind.

"The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all our ancestors is angry for what they have done, to ridicule our culture, that is all that we have and we value it more than anything, we value our kingdom, our kings and our Oba, Oba is the god of the Benins, no man born of a woman has the right to plan any evil to divide the Benin kingdom, such plans can never succeed, take it from me.

"The Oba of Benin is a calm and well brought up man, but that doesn’t mean he cannot bite, my father used to tell me “My son, if you see anyone fighting me, you should first of all deal with the person fighting me before asking what the problem is” so because the Oba hasn’t said anything yet doesn’t mean we the sons cannot talk or fight.

"My advice to Mr. governor is to retrieve. it is not too late, maybe nobody has told him, but I will tell him the truth. Government is not forever, a day will come when he will stop being governor, but he will remain a Benin man. I don’t want him to be seen as an enemy of Benin.

So, Obaseki should retrieve from his actions, stop supporting what we know as evil, there are many ways to handle issues, in every problem there is solution, a house divided can never stand. We must come together as a family; I want the best for our state, and I pray our state remains one of the best in this country."
