FCT-IRS disowns fake employment letters in circulation

The Federal Capital Territory-Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), has dissociated itself from appointment letters purportedly issued by the service in circulation.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Mustapha Sumaila,
FCT-IRS Head of Corporate Communications on Tuesday in Abuja.

Sumaila, who said the act was meant to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians, said that the service was not recruiting at the moment.

He urged members of the public to be cautious in order not to fall victim of scammers, who were parading fake appointment letters.

“FCT-IRS does not sell employment and whoever demands for money for job in the name of the service is a fraudster.

“You are advised to report such person or group of persons to the appropriate authorities.

“Anyone who patronises such fraudsters does so at his or her own peril,’’ he said.

The spokesperson said the service had put necessary measures in place to ensure that anyone caught in the act was brought to justice.

He urged members of the public to always visit the service’s website, www.fctirs.gov.ng or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for any information.
