Member representing Esan North East and Esan South East Federal Constituency of Edo State, Prince  Henry Odianosen Okojie has added voice on the need for the House of Representatives to Investigate Allegations of Abuse of Tax Incentives, Tax Breaks and Tax Waivers by Public Institutions and Companies benefiting from Tax Incentives.
The Lawmaker while granting interview with journalists after Plenary, noted that the gap created in the revenue profile of the Nation, had also contributed to the seeking of loans, grants and aides to fund the country’s budget deficit.

He decried the rate at which the Nation losses colossal amount of monies to tax incentives and waivers and other abuses of the system.

Commending the House of Representatives under the Leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tanjudeen Abbas, the Lawmaker acknowledged the swift action taken to set up an adhoc Committee to investigate the allegations, stating that, the Nation might be plunged into very serious economic crisis, recession and depression if appropriate and urgent steps aren't taking to mitigate these alleged abnormalities.

"I am very impressed with the prompt resolve of the House of Representatives to investigate allegations of abuse of tax incentives, tax breaks and tax waivers by public institutions and companies benefiting from tax incentives as well as the decision to setup an Ad-hoc committee to investigate the allegations before further legislative actions are taken.”

"In couple of weeks from today, the Adhoc Committee will be inaugurated and proactive steps will be taken towards ensuring these challenges that poses threats to our economic survival as a Nation, are resolved timely." he added.
