SIFAX Logistics Company Ltd., a subsidiary of SIFAX Group, has rewarded 19 truck drivers and technicians for their excellent performance in the first half of the year.

Mr Adewale Adetayo, General Manager, Haulage, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, signed by Mr Muyiwa Akande, Corporate Affairs Manager, SIFAX Group.

Adetayo noted that the recipients received commendation letters and gift rewards including generators, freezers and fans at an award ceremony organised by the haulage department of the company.

It was organised to celebrate deserving staff for contributing immensely to the company’s success.

“The best performing haulage driver team – Yusuf Jamiu and his assistant, Michael Akinkunmi, received the award as the best drivers.

“Jamiu led his team to make a total of 93 delivery trips in record time between January and June, and in the process achieving a one hundred per cent accident-free record, while not also exceeding allocated expense.

“Ayorinde Lukman/Muyideen Oyerinde and Kelvin Matthew/Alabi Olaiya emerged first and second runners up,” he said.

Adetayo noted that the transfer drivers who were honoured include Ayomide Peters/ Isa Mukaila – best drivers and assistants while Olalekan Azeez/Mudasiru Adisa and Amisu Sikiru/Muideen Adewale came second and third respectively.

He said that there were also winners from the technical department.

Adetayo said that Kenneth Anyanwu also got an award as the neatest truck driver.

“Over the years, we have grown our truck fleet from 55 in 2017 to 102, our revenue has grown by about 49 per cent while cost of sales has reduced over the years by about 14 per cent.

“All these will not have been possible without the input of the wonderful team I work with.

“This ceremony as well as the prizes are our show of appreciation for a job well done and to further motivate the team for a better performance in the second half of the year,” he said.

Mr Bode Ojeniyi, Group Executive Director, SIFAX Group, applauded the haulage team for the improved performance over the years, especially in the first half of the year.

He noted that it was in spite of the peculiar challenges in the haulage sector with the bad roads and gridlock on virtually all the roads in the country.

Ojeniyi admonished the team to aim higher in order to close the business year on a more impressive note.
