Baltic countries plan major military exercise with NATO partners

A major military exercise on NATO’s eastern flank is being planned by the Baltic republics along with the United Kingdom, Canada and Germany, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said.

Pistorius said this during during a NATO defence ministers’ conference in Brussels on Friday.

He said the exercise would focus on the rapid movement of troops and improved coordination between Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia and the three larger NATO members with forces stationed in the Baltic region.

Pistorius did not set a date for the exercise, but said it could take place before the start of 2025.
