The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to direct Julius Berger Plc, the contractors handling the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna highway to immediately complete reconstruction work, especially from the Jere axis, which it abandoned some months ago because of security concerns.

This followed the adoption of a motion moved by Representative Garba Datti from Kaduna state and 38 others.

Datti, while moving the motion, said before Julius Berger withdrew its workers, half stretch of the road had been graded and covered only in laterite and because of the rain there are now gorges and potholes on the road making it un-motorable.
