Dreams are finally coming true for Mary Daniel, the 27-year-old amputee water hawker, as she launched her new house in the Igando area of Lagos State on Saturday.
Her story came to national limelight earlier last April when she told newsmen how her ambition of becoming a lawyer was cut short due to an accident she had in 2006. She was the only surviving passenger on the bus.
The single mum, who used to sell bottled water on highways in the Oshodi area of Lagos, did the house warming ceremony for the house which she built from the N25 million donation after her story went viral.
The Kogi-born lady disclosed she acquired the new apartment with N17.5 million.
She is also constructing a pure-water factory inside the compound, which is near completion.
Daniel expressed happiness with apartment and thanked Nigerians for their support.
The apartment has two tenants already.
She also expressed happiness her daughter, Success, is with her and has started schooling.
