The Management of the Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu has shifted the school resumption date to March 21, following a shift in the Governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, announced the change in the date of institution resumption on Thursday, in Enugu.

“They said the shift in the resumption of academic activities by the students had been approved by the Senate of the University.

“The students are now expected to resume on March 21st for the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic session,” he said.

Anieke said the Senate of the University did not want a situation, where the students would resume and still go back to places they registered to cast their votes during the elections scheduled for March 18.

The Vice-Chancellor also reminded the students that there would not be another break once they return on March 21st.

He said the institution would operate three months of uninterrupted teaching and examinations as soon as the students return to the campus.

The vice chancellor, however, advised parents to equip their children and wards with most of their needs as there would be no other holiday until the end of the semester.
