Human rights activist and chieftain of the Labour Party, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor has commended Ahmed Bola Tinubu for prompt response to his petition for sack, prosecution of Economic and Financial Crime Commission Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa and Central Bank Nigeria governor, Prof Godwin Emefiele.
He has also hailed the president for the invitation of former Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika for interrogation over the alleged Nigeria Air scam.
Recall that the activist in a statement last Saturday, gave the president seven days to carry our the arrests and sack or he would personally take the duo to court.
The LP strongman however, said he expected the president to do more positive reforms in the country, but assured him that his administration is temporary, as Mr Peter Obi would be claiming his mandate very soon.
Hear him “Yesterday, the news was everywhere that the corrupt EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa has been excused and handed over to the DSS for various corruption charges, and so I am very happy for these.
Labour Party speaks on move by suspended Nat Chairman to withdraw petitions of Obi, others from Tribunals
Despite manipulation, results on INEC portal show Peter Obi won in Rivers.
While I expressed satisfaction over the move, I was also happy to hear this morning that Hadi Sirika, who stole ₦138 billion of our tax payer’s money. He must explain what he did with our money.
I also commend Mr president for the arrest of Emefiele. I hope he will ask Emefiele how 750 million dollars disappeared from the 1 billion dollars he received and appeared in Dangote’s account in Dubai. Most Nigerians we call rich men are poor, in spirit and in heart. We Saw the trial of Onanefe Ibori in London, where the judge described him as a common criminal who took advantage of his people.
That said, while I commend Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the moves, we are waiting for the judiciary as he has has encouraged the judiciary to do the right thing. We are certain we will get our mandate back.
