A Federal Commissioner on the board of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Hon. Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma on Tuesday said that Nigerians should be well informed that the removal of fuel subsidy is for the best interest of our Nation as he described subsidy as a total scam.
Hon. Agbonayinma, a former member of the House of Representatives said it is unfortunate that Nigerians have not learnt their lessons on how the NNPC are collaborating with the cabals to reap off Nigerians.
"I’ve said this over and over again, if you have been watching all this while, I’ve been very clear about how I presented myself, my observation against NNPC and the marketers, unfortunately Nigerians have not learnt their lessons. NNPC are the cause of all this problems Nigerians are facing today, there is collaboration aiming to destroy Nigeria, this is nothing but wickedness without having the fear of God, but I’m happy that we have a new President who will not tolerate nonsense from them.
"When you look at what happened at Eagle Square on May 29th, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, his inauguration speech was very straight forward and clear. Nigerians have been crying about fuel subsidy all these years, fuel subsidy is a total scam NNPC is a scam. Our four refineries, none of them are working, year in year out billions are budgeted for turn around maintenance, can you show me one refinery that is working that they’ve managed over the years? Where did all the money go to?
"So a person just merely saying that he is going to remove fuel subsidy - he hadn't even been to his office - as he was talking, filling stations owned by Nigerians began to close down trying to put the government in bad light, but they will fail. Nigerians need iron hand to deal with us, we are our own worst enemy. We don’t mean well for this nation, and I pray that God gives Mr. President the wisdom and knowledge to face them, because they are ganging up to sabotage Mr. President and they will not succeed. So, all Nigerians must realize that we have only one country as at today whether you are small, big, rich or poor we are suffering from the subsidy."
