The acclaimed witches and wizards in Benin Kingdom, Chief David Edebiri died last weekend at the age of 94 years in Benin city.
Chief Edebiri until his death was the Esogban of Benin Kingdom.
Mourning the highly respected Chief, the Minority Whip and member representing Orhionmwon East Constituency at the Edo state House of Assembly, Hon. Osamwonyi Evbaguehita Atu paid a condolence visit to the family.
Speaking at his residence at Airport road, Benin city, Atu said, the Esogban of Benin was a great father who believed in the unity of Edo, and served Edo people with humanity.
"His death is a monumental national loss. It is very sad, It is very painful.
According to Atu, Chief David Edebiri, the Esogban of Benin kingdom deserves to be celebrated for the positive impact he made in the society and has created a huge vacuum in Benin traditional council.
Adding that the Patriarch of the Edebiri family lived an exemplary life of service to humanity.
" He was passionate about the growth and progress of Edo Nature. The late Esogban demonstrated outstanding leadership attributes in various capacities.
Hon. Atu while condoling with the family, and the entire Benin Kingdom said, the Late Esogban of Benin Kingdom was a lovely father to him, whom he described as an institution.
Atu However, prayed for God to comfort the family and all he left behind, and for God to grant him Eternal Rest.
