Organized Labour Protest turned Bloody in Abuja
...As Protesters break down National Assembly Gate

...Ayuba knocks FG Failure to fix Refineries

Immediate past President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba has berated successive governments for failure to fix Nigeria’s oil refineries.

Comrade Ayuba was among those who addressed protesters in Abuja queried why the Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna refineries have not been fixed inspite of the many promises made by the federal government.

He pointed out that Nigeria is the only oil producing country in the world that does not have a single functional refinery.

Ayuba accused the political elites and their businessmen collaborators of stripping the country of her wealth, adding that the rich few are hold Nigeria by the throat.  He said the rich are milking the poor dry.

However, the protest has turned into a bloody one in Abuja as the protesters break down the first gate of the National Assembly and made their way into the premises.

They are currently inside the NASS premises as at the time of filing this report.

Apparently to register their grievances on the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government to the members of the National Assembly (NASS) protesters barricade the outer entrance to NASS complex.

This is even as the nationwide protests called by organised labour kicked off across the country with the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade (Barrister) Joe Ajaero leading other trade unions to protest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
