The alumni association of Saint Louis Owo Old Girls Association (SLOOGA) of Saint Louis Grammar School, Owo, in Ondo State has extolled the virtues of the Late Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for creating an enabling environment for all the Alumni in the state to partner with the various ministries, especially the ministry of education.

President of the alumni, Mrs. Philomena Ebunoluwa Malumi who stated this recently, added that the former Governor saw the need for the expansion and growth of the various schools in the state and gave the various alumni the benign environment needed for her to leverage on, as it concerns them both the individual Alumnus and collectively.

The alumni honcho in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Clementina Olomu and made available to the press, Malumi said that Akeredolu ensured that the ministry of education was open and accessible for partnership and ideas sharing for projects.

In similar development, the Vice President of the group Mrs. Patience Otrofanowei, stated that Akeredolu always listened to voice of reason once he was satisfied that it was of best interest of the people, adds value to them and improves their total wellbeing and welfare, he was all out for it. She said that it was as a result of this he returned the missionary schools to mission four years ago, after they were taken over by government, for proper and better administration.

"Recall that the agitation by the missionary was on, long before Akeredolu came into office, but was made possible by his administration after the missionaries concerned fulfilled the conditions laid down by his administration, which included non-discrimination against any admission seekers, among other rules."

Meanwhile Barrister Oyeyemi Jimi-Salami who is an ex-officio of the alumni stated that Akeredolu gave the education sector a boost when he mandated all public and private secondary schools across the state to create counselling units for the pupils.

She said that the availability of the functional counselling units, coupled with conferences organised by his Commissioner of Education Science and Technology, Mr. Femi Agagu, helped in shaping the minds of these students and also prepared them for a brighter future.

North American Chairperson of the alumni, Mrs. Margaret Adeyemi described Late Akeredolu as a man who always backed his words with action. She added that Akeredolu knew and acknowledged the import of his manifesto during campaign, hence he was a confident and bold lawyer who knew he was going to fulfill them to the best of his ability and admiration of all.

Adeyemi said, "As an indigene of the State, living in North America, I visit home regularly, hence I can speak authoritatively on some of the achievements of Akeredolu and his personality from all perspectives, both in agriculture, security, industrialisation and in building long lasting structures for the state". She stated that Akeredolu was a man well loved by his people because he stood tall for them all through his tenure as their governor.
