Head of Service, Atang hails Tinubu, Wike for raising the hope of FCTA staff

The Head of Service, Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Dr. Samuel Udo Atang has appreciated President Bola Tinubu, and the FCT Minister , Barr. Nyesom Wike for giving Renewed Hope to over 8,000 staff of the Administration.Atang, who clocked 60 on 27th March, declared this on Thursday during a birthday celebration organized in his honour at the Executive Hall of the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

According to him, with the Renewed Hope Agenda, the FCT Administration now have one head of service and ten permanent secretaries.

The first FCTA, head of service expressed gladness that the staff of the Administration have never had it so good in the new FCTA system, every staff was a potential permanent secretary and head of service.

Recounting the fortune bestowed on the staff, Atang disclosed that issues of staff welfare were paramount to the FCT Minister, as he wasted no time in approving promotion of over 8,000 staff carried in the exercise of 2023.

He also listed other commendable actions taken by the Minister which have given the staff hope, including granting of approval to enlongation of service to nursing teachers, as well as for the payment of all outstanding allowances.

In a goodwill message, a former Senior Special Assistant to immediate past-FCT Minister, Ikharo Attah called on the directors to close ranks and work for the overall success of the Administration.

Attah advised them to take the elevation of the head of service as an act of God, stressing that power was only from God, adding that with the large openings, they took would get elevated, even as he urged them against keeping of files to accelerate development of the Territory.

The Mandate Secretary, Women Affairs Secretariat, Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi in her goodwill message extoled the virtues and professionalism of the celebrant, congratulating him on turning 60 and on his latest appointment.

Earlier, the Acting Director, Reformed Coordination and Service Improvement, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, in her welcome message, stated that the staff were overjoyed with Wike’s life-transforming changes.

Dr. Ahmadu assured that the staff were highly motivated and therefore determined to give their best to improve service delivery and increase productivity.

Meanwhile,earlier this week President Tinubu had approved a six-month extension of service for the new head of service for him to “stabilize and consolidate the ongoing processes to reposition the administrative structure of the FCTA occasioned by the recent inauguration of the FCT Civil Service Commission.
