The Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST) has commenced its Combined First and Second Quarters Conference for 2024 at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST) in Benin to reassess the Corps' performance and strategize for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in supporting Nigerian Army operations and other engagements.
"Major General Adekunle Adebayo Adeyinka, Commander of the Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), while inaugurating the conference, welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of the gathering. He stated that the conference serves as a crucial platform for evaluating the Corps' achievements and identifying areas for improvement to ensure optimal support for the Nigerian Army (NA)," a statement issued by Captain KG Ayuba, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations at the Headquarters, Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport said.
The statement said the Corps Commander further urged the participants to engage in open, robust, and candid discussions to develop optimal solutions for repositioning NACST to deliver effective support to the NA. General Adeyinka expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, for his unwavering support to the Corps. He enjoined all officers to embrace the new initiatives aimed at sustaining and building upon the Corps' accomplishments. Additionally, he called on field commanders to motivate junior officers to be exemplary representatives of the Corps and to foster a spirit of camaraderie. This collective effort, he noted, is essential for projecting a positive image of the Corps
Maj Gen Nansak Danjuma Shagaya, Commandant of NASST, welcomed the officers to the conference and urged all participants to pay close attention to the discussions and contribute meaningfully to the deliberations.
A key highlight of the conference was a briefing by the Commandant of NASST and commanders of various Supply and Transport Brigades across NA units and formations. The event saw the attendance of high-ranking officials, including CCST Maj Gen AA Adeyinka, Chief Host and Commandant NASST Maj Gen ND Shagaya, directors from Defence Headquarters, Army Headquarters, and Headquarters NACST, as well as commanders of various ST commands and officers from HQ NACST and NASST.
