Japa: Muslim Professionals set to host National Discourse on Syndrome

The Companion, an association of Muslim men in business and the professions, will host its 2024 conference and 6th national discourse next week in Abuja.

This is contained in a press statement made available on Friday and signed by Muideen Adeleke and Tajudeen Balogun, the Chairman and Secretary respectively, of the Media, Mobilisation and Publicity Sub-committee, of the event's National Organising Committee.

They said the discourse which is one of the means the organisation lends its voice on national issues of interest is themed: “Between Patriotism And Self-Preservation”, featuring a lecture, titled: “Dilemma Of The Nigerian Youth: Challenges At Home, Uncertainties Abroad”.

The Chairman of the upcoming public lecture, according to them, is the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.

They said the Keynote Speaker is the Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim. 

"The Guest Speaker is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, while the Co-Speaker is the immediate past Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah.

"The Special Guest of honour is the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Joint Admission Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede," they said. 

They added that the incoming edition of the programme, is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 10, 2024, inside the auditorium of the National University Commission Auditorium , Maitama District, Abuja, at 10:00 am.

"The discourse will have in attendance, The Companion members, from its existing six Districts, including: Abuja, Lagos, Oyo, Kwara, Osun and Cross River states.

"It is also expected to attract businessmen, captains of industries, government functionaries, non-governmental organizations, academics and students, among others," they said.

According to the statement, the discourse will be immediately followed by a non-elective Conference.
