LP Chieftain Condemn Wike's Threat to PDP Governors ...Says, Politicians Should Restraint from Divisive Comments

Chief Patrick Eholor, a chieftain of the Labour Party, on Monday, raised concern over the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike's recent statement regarding the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) structure and governors supporting Fubara.

He said he is concerned about his commitment to democratic ideals and peaceful elections.

Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor, otherwise known as Ultimate Equal, and President of One Love Foundation, said by asserting that "nobody will take away the structure of PDP from us" and threatening to "put fire" in states of those who dare to oppose his stance, Wike is inciting division and potentially, violence among PDP members and the general populace.

In a statement he personally signed, Eholor said, "It is crucial to remember that political disagreements and varying allegiances are inherent in democratic systems.

"However, resorting to incendiary rhetoric and threats undermines the foundations of peaceful dialogue, mutual respect, and compromise that are essential for a healthy democracy.

"Wike's remarks not only jeopardise the integrity of the PDP but also pose a significant challenge to the stability of the political landscape in Nigeria.

"Wike, as a prominent political figure, has a responsibility to foster unity and peaceful discourse among party members and the broader public. His comments, however, are starkly at odds with these democratic principles. We strongly condemn Wike's divisive statements and call on him to exercise restraint and civility in his public addresses.

"Moreover, we urge all political leaders, regardless of party affiliation, to refrain from using provocative language and inciting violence in the pursuit of political goals. As Nigeria gears up for another election season, it is more important than ever for politicians to prioritise the well-being of the nation and its citizens above partisan interests."
