Buhari Signs 2022 appropriation bill into law

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law the 2022 Appropriation Bill titled “Budget of Economic Growth and Sustainability” at the State House, Abuja.

The Bill was signed on Friday morning at a brief ceremony at the Council Chambers after it was handed over to the President for assent by his Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Babajide Omoworare.

President Buhari was thereafter joined in the signing exercise by the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha; and the Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed.

The 2022 Budget, valued at N17.126 trillion, was transmitted by the National Assembly to the President for his assent on Friday, December 24, 2021.

The President also assented to the Finance Bill 2021, which he said was critical to the execution of the 2022 Appropriation Law.
