Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal.

Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara has condoled with his Sokoto State counterpart, Waziri Tambuwal, over the demise of Alhaji Muhammadu Bello, the Waziri of Tambuwal.

This is contained in a statement issued by Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Media and communications, Malam Zailani Bappa on Wednesday in Gusau.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tambuwal had, on Wednesday in Sokoto, announced the death of the octogenarian.

Bello died on Tuesday, after spending 37 years as the Waziri of Tambuwal.

Matawalle, in his message, described the death of Bello as a great loss to the family, the people of Tambuwal, the Sultanate and Sokoto State in general.

“This is indeed a great loss to the governor, his family, the Sultanate, the state and indeed, the rest of us in our various capacities as his friends, associates, colleagues and, by extension, the brothers and sisters of the deceased.

“On behalf of myself, my family, the government and entire people of Zamfara, I extend our heartfelt condolence to His Excellency, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, over this great loss,” Matawalle said.

The governor said that he received the message while he was far away on an official assignment, but noted that his heart was with his Sokoto State counterpart.

He prayed Allah to grant the soul of late Waziri eternal rest and all his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
