The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mr Olusade Adesola has disclosed that plans to carry out a comprehensive upgrade of the Federal Capital Territory Administration City Library are underway.


The Permanent Secretary dropped the hint on Thursday, June 23, 2022, during an inspection tour of the Facility located in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.


Mr Adesola who described the provision of the City Library as a good initiative by the FCT Administration expressed satisfaction with the level of patronage so far. While assuring residents of massive improvement in the provision of services in certain areas.


Harping on how the Administration intends to shore up the number of enrollees in the Centre, the Permanent Secretary, said aggressive publicity and marketing of the Facility to the entire FCT residents will soon commence.


The Permanent Secretary who used the opportunity to appreciate the United States Embassy for sustained partnership with the FCT Administration towards the development of the Centre called on other Embassies, well-meaning individuals and reputable Organizations to partner with the Administration in order to improve reading culture amongst residents of the Territory.


Mr Adesola who charged residents of the Territory to embrace the reading culture as a way of life, equally revealed that the Centre has the capacity to accommodate 200 persons daily, with materials on Arts and Humanities, Accounting, Current Affairs, Kiddies, American History, etc.
