Edo Governorship: Obaseki meets with Lawmakers to Impeach Philip Shaibu

... House to move impeachment notice on Wednesday

... Gets Oshiomole Support for APC Lawmakers

Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki has perfected all arrangement with the Hon. Blessing Agbebaku led House of Assembly to impeach his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu on Wednesday 6th March 2024.

A member of the State House of Assembly, who does not want his name in the print, told our reporter that they were summoned by the governor on Sunday where he, Godwin Obaseki, briefed them the next step to take against his deputy for daring to contest against Dr. Asue Ighodalo his anointed candidate.

At the time of filling this story, about 12 of the lawmakers have signed the impeachment notice.

Our reporter also gathered from our close source that the governor has already gotten across to comrade Adams Oshiomole to help lobby and talk to the APC Lawmakers in the House to support the impeachment move against Comrade Philip Shaibu since he, the deputy governor, is not in good terms with the Edo North Senator.

We were also reliably informed that since Comrade Adams Oshiomole fell out with the presidency in the Edo state All Progressives Congress Governorship primary, he is ready to do a spoiler job and therefore has given Godwin Obaseki and Asue Ighodalo his words to galvanise his followers for the PDP candidate.

"My dear brother, politics is a bad game. Honestly speaking, Comrade Philip Shaibu has his right to contest but is left for the people to decide. But the way the governor is going about it, is really amazing to many of us.

"Yes, the Governor invited us on Sunday and at the meeting he told us to commence an impeachment process against his deputy for having the guts to contest against his preferred person, Dr. Asue Ighodalo.

"He also went further to tell us that he has the support of Comrade Adams Oshiomole for the APC Lawmakers. You know Oshiomole has already fallen out with the presidency because of the Edo state APC Governorship primary.

"As it is today Monday, the governor already has overwhelming numbers to carry out the impeachment process. Do you know that because of the impeachment process, the house couldn't seat today Monday, and we will not also seat tomorrow Tuesday, just for them to perfect all arrangement."
