The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, has advised members of the party in the state to unite and reclaim power again.

Ayu gave the advice on Thursday in Jos at the party’s grand rally for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and Pankshin South State Constituency by-elections slated for Saturday.
“Unity of our leaders in the state is not negotiable and I have been talking to elder brothers Sen. Jonah Jang and Sen. Jeremiah Useni.
“I want to announce to you that they are now eating in one bowl, talking to each other, unity is back in Plateau.
“Everything will be done to make sure that leaders in Plateau are united,” he stated.
He advised the party members to work and ensure that all members, who left in 2015 returned to the party.
Ayu lauded the return of the immediate past chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Letep Dabang, alongside other leaders.

For the forthcoming by-election, the national chairman advised every member to go to their villages and woo voters to vote for the party.
“Don’t be politicians in the town, go to the villages and mobilise the people to vote.
“Encourage those who have yet to register to do so without delay and get their permanent voters card,” he advised.

Plateau PDP Chairman, Mr. Chris Hassan said that the party had resolved all disputes in court and had repositioned itself to take overpower.
Hassan said that the party recently received 12,000 returnees in Langtang and was receiving another batch at the grand campaign rally.
He commended the leaders of the party in Plateau for working hard to keep the party afloat.

Dabang apologised to PDP for leaving the party for another party, saying that he regretted his action.
The immediate APC chairman further said that his return was not to destroy but to strengthen the party that he was part of when it was formed.
“You received me with open hands, I don’t want us to have factions in PDP, let us unite.
“I told Jang that you and Useni have fought wars in Nigeria so why can’t you fight for Plateau to unite,” he said.
