In recent days, the Nigerian media space has been awash with the argument between former Super Eagles striker and former Super Eagles coach, Samsom Siasia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports following the downward review of his life ban from footballing activities.
Siasia had stated unequivocally that he did not get the desired support from the Nigeria Government all through his struggle to get the life ban handed to him by FIFA lifted
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, had countered the claim stressing that the coach was lying, and that the Federal Government would soon make public what they did for Siasia.
The Court of Arbitration for Sports had reduced the life ban slammed on Siasia to five years.
In some quarters, even this is still viewed as disproportionate to the offense with reference being made to the case of former Super Eagles assistant coach, Salisu Abubakar who was caught on camera collecting a bribe but was only slammed with a one year ban. And after the Nigeria Football Federation got him a fresh job.
