Chelsea manager Graham Potter has not given up on Romelu Lukaku's future at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
The Belgian striker completed his dream return to Inter Milan this summer following a turbulent campaign at the west London club last season.
Lukaku, who struggled to win the favour of former boss Thomas Tuchel, is said to be keen on a permanent deal at Inter beyond his year-long spell, but the loan agreement does not include an option or obligation to buy next summer.
Although the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on deadline day filled a void in attack at Chelsea, Potter is keen not to close the door on Lukaku's Chelsea career just yet, according to ESPN.
The Blues manager is open to holding talks with the 29-year-old in a bid to revive his career, should he be interested in a return.
Lukaku remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2026.
Since his return to the San Siro, the former Everton and Manchester United star has scored one goal in three Serie A appearances, having suffered both from ankle injuries and muscular problems.
