Golfer, Oche hopes to return to Sunshine Tours soon

Andrew Oche-Odoh, one of the top five golf players in the country, says his primary focus in the second quarter of the year is to return to the Sunshine Tours.

Sunshine Tours, which holds in South Africa, is one of the biggest and most highly anticipated tours that feature most top-rated players in Africa.

Oche-Udoh, who said this an interview with the media on Friday in Lagos, described the first quarter of the year as slow but promising.

“In the first quarter we didn’t have a lot of tournaments, but it is looking a bit promising. There’s a new tour that has just sprung up.

“The tour is called the Professional Development Golf Tour (PGD) and they have been up and doing.

“If we match that with what we have in the Professional Golf Association of Nigeria (PGA), we will have enough tournaments and get a bit busy. The first quarter wasn’t that bad but it can be better,” he said.
He said his goal was to achieve a comeback to one of the most prestigious tours in Africa.
“To be honest, I really haven’t gotten to where I want to be, but the second quarter is looking good already. I hope I can put four good rounds together very soon.

“Another win is knocking on my door, I hopefully will return to the Sunshine Tour this year. I’m currently playing the qualifiers, some will come up in June.
“I hope to make a statement with my comeback and give my best like I’ve always done to the beautiful game,” he said.
