Team Kano Boys rugby team, Monday morning secured the qualification ticket to compete in the 2023 edition of the National Youths Games. (NYG).

The Kano Rugby lads beat arch rivals Team Kaduna 14-7 to book their spot.

Kano has secured a place in the next NYG schedule to take place in September in Asaba, Delta state.

The head coach of Kano Rugby Team, Umar Bau described their qualification as significant.

He said they are rejoicing that they would be travelling to Delta with Team Kano Boys and Girls team.

He said the results obtained in Kaduna is the output of the combine efforts of the players, technical crew and backroom staff.

Bau reassured that the team will continue to work hard to attain the required capacity to confront the task ahead at the NYG stage in September.

It would be recalled they Team Kano Rugby Girls, 24 hours earlier also picked the sole ticket to compete at the NYG.
