The supporters of the Falconets have continued to praise Nigeria’s 3-0 victory, on Saturday, against the Junior Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon to qualify on a 3-0 aggregate.

 The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Falconets of Nigeria advance to the final round of the qualifying round on Saturday with the first leg fixtures scheduled for between March 10 to March 12 and the second leg ties for between March 24 to March 26.

 

Speaking to NAN in separate interviews in Abuja, they noted that the team was blessed with an array of talented players, capable of securing the ticket.

On his part, Ezeude Mathew, the Chairman of the Super Eagles supporters club, Abuja chapter, said that the girls performed well; ”they were well-coordinated, fantastic heroines, we wish them the best to go forward and ensure that they go for bullseye for Nigeria to be proud.

 

“ The team has lots of potentials players, which made them a strong squad,” he said.

However, he noted that the coach and his crew needed to work on noticeable lapses so that they can do the right thing to improve the girls in their subsequent matches.

“ There is room for more improvement and I wish them all the best to win against their Moroccan counterparts,” he said.

 

On his part, Olutoye Orishabiyi, national Public relations officer of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, said that he was delighted with the performance of the wonderful girls.

“ We weren’t surprised at the scoreline and we are very happy about what we saw on Saturday because we were in Cameroon when they played their previous match.

“ I think they need to be more dedicated, they should not lose the ball but creep the ball so that the opponent does not come and take it away from them.

“ They need to capitalize more on our flanks. I think it was one of our strengths on Saturday .“ the flanks “is the important thing we need to focus on,” he said.

 

 On her part, Habiba Yesufu, a Warrant Officer at the Defence College, Abuja, said that they should be well connected to each other and try to ensure that they scored more goals.

 “ Our flanks are our strength. We want you to make us proud and ensure that they continued as a connecting team, well organized and competent,” she said

 She said, yes, we are going on to the next round without conceding any goal from what they played on Saturday, we can do that.

“ I appreciate the girls, from what they played, as they are technically good and well balanced.

 “ I don’t see any country stopping them from qualifying for the World Cup, the girls did well, it shows that the coaches know what they are doing,” she said.

 

In his view, Afolabi Olanrewaju, a football analyst, said the falconets, the girls, I think it is high time they are motivated.

“ It is high time that the Falconets are motivated by way of drumming more support for their welfare and creating a desire for better and optimum performance.

“ They need to learn to make use of all their chances in subsequent matches,” he said.

 He said that one of our prolific scorers, Esther Onyenezide, made the brace count, this already showed that our next encounter is going to be a success and we will defeat our Moroccan counterparts.

“In which two will be selected after the Morocco match and I believe it is Nigeria and one other. I wish the girls good luck, they have made Nigeria proud,” he said.

 

Isiaka Adegboye, a journalist, said they played well on Saturday; “ Morocco will give them a tough time because they have built up a female team just like the Falconets, it’s going to be a tough match.

“ Despite, they’re ( Morocco) a fierce team and they have built them to standard, we the Nigeria team are equal to the task.

“ I have confidence that we will beat them when we face them in battle,” he said.

 

Timeline News reports that other teams that qualified for the final round are Ghana, Ethiopia, Morocco,  and Nigeria.

Nigeria will face Morocco, while Ghana will square up against Ethiopia in the final round, after the first leg fixtures scheduled for between March 10 to March 12 and the second leg ties for March 24 to March 26.

 

Timeline News that the Falconets on Saturday defeated their Cameroonian counterparts 3-0, in the second leg match of the fourth round of the 2022 women’s world cup, African zone qualifiers.

The match was played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium pitch, Abuja on Feb. 5, while the FIFA Under-20 women’s world cup will hold from Aug. 10 to Aug. 28 in Costa Rica.
