*It's* *a* *New* *Dawn* *for* *Akoko-Edo* , *says* *Omobayo* ...hosts Akoko-Edo EDHA staff, coalition of non-indigenes

Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Godwins Marvellous Omobayo, has said his elevation to the exalted office of the number two citizen marks a new dawn for the people of Akoko-Edo.

The Deputy Governor stated this when he played host to staff of Edo State House of Assembly, EDHA, who are indigenes of Akoko-Edo, in his office.

He posited that the much talked about marginalisation of Akoko-Edo can be attributed to the selfish and inordinate ambition of some self-styled leaders who don't mean well for the majority of the people.

According to him: "the people of Edo North are one. The marginalisation of Akoko-Edo over the years is due to the selfish tendencies of some of our leaders who always want everything for themselves. I will use my position as Deputy Governor by God's grace to unite our people for the good of the majority".

"Freedom starts one day. My appointment as Deputy Governor by the Governor, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, is a new era for the good people of Akoko-Edo. My admonition to our people is for us to play good and developmental politics".

"I promise and please trust me that, l will do my best during my short, but historic tenure as Deputy Governor, to see how l can address the issues raised in your address", Omobayo added.

In his remarks, leader of the group, Benedict Ogaegbe, appreciated the Deputy Governor for granting them audience, inspite of his tight schedule.

Ogaegbe appreciated Governor Godwin Obaseki for deeming it worthy to appoint their son (Omobayo) as Deputy Governor.

He congratulated Omobayo on his new status, while praying for God's guidance and wisdom for him during his tenure.

Ogaegbe commended the Deputy Governor for the prompt response of the State Government in cushioning the plight of victims of the devastating windstorm that ravaged Lampese and its neighbouring communities.

In a related development, Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Godwins Marvellous Omobayo, on Tuesday, received members of the Coalition of Non-Indigenes in Edo State in his office.

The coalition led by Engr. Clement Shola, said their visit was to felicitate with the Deputy Governor and pledge their loyalty to the Obaseki-led administration.

In his remarks, Omobayo commended the group for their support for the present administration, while urging members to work for the victory of Dr. Asue lghodalo in the September 21 governorship election.
