The Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) says it will pay the outstanding July salaries of primary school teachers in the Gbako and Shiroro local government areas of the state.
The Chairman of NSUBEB, Alhaji Sai’du Ibrahim, announced this while briefing newsmen on his achievements as the board chairman in the last 100 days in office in Minna.
He said that Gov. Abubakar Sani-Bello of the state had given an executive order that July salaries of primary school teachers in Gbako and Shiroro local governments should be paid by the state Ministry for Local and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Ibrahim said that since his assumption in office, the board had established more than 15 junior secondary schools based on demands.
He also said that it established maintenance units in all local government areas to take care of minor repairs to school facilities.
He added that under his watch, the board successfully conducted the 2021/2022 Unified Common Entrance Examination and procured school admission registers, weekly diaries, class attendance registers, and chalks across 3,700 primary schools in the state.

“I facilitate and sponsored three candidates for entrance examinations for admission into Jigawa state Academy for the Gifted, Bamaina, in the 2020/2023 academic session.
“We conducted Speaking Bee inter-local government school debate and mathematics and science quiz competition and facilitated the donation of 500KVA transformer to old secretariat complex,” he said.
He also said that the board paid more than N200 million backlog of teachers’ arrears under Better Education Service Delivery for All.
The chairman, however, noted that the efforts were ongoing to provide quality basic education which “serves as the foundation of education to children”.
Ibrahim added that the board also established efficiency units to ensure the quality execution of projects in accordance with specifications, adding that henceforth, the board has zero tolerance for poor project execution.
He commended Gov. Abubakar Sani-Bello for giving him the opportunity to serve as well as provide access to quality education for children in the state.
