Fans of late Big Brother housemate, Patrick Fakoya popularly known as Rico Swavey on Thursday took to social media to mourn the death of the lawyer who was hospitalized after a car accident.
Rico Swavey who was a housemate in the Season 3 Big Brother Naija reality TV show was involved in a car accident on Tuesday, Oct. 11, and had been on life support since then.
Fans and fellow housemates had pleaded that Nigerians pray for his quick recovery while also gathering funds to take care of his life support bill at the hospital.
One of his fellow former housemates, Tobi Bakre, however, broke the news of his death when he shared a picture of them together with the caption “this is how I will always remember you, rest in peace, my brother.”
Another ex-housemate, Alex Asogwa known as Alex Unusual wrote “this was not what we agreed, rest in peace Rico.”
Mourning the ex-BBN housemate on Twitter with #RIP Rico Swavey, a fan, Tobiloba wrote “He just clocked 29 in July. Still very young and vibrant. Man had so many dreams and goals. He was positive and supportive. Always had love to give out. Such a delight to our screens. Nah I’m so pained. RIP Rico Swavey.”
Ugegbe wrote “Omo, just like that Rico is gone, God please accept his soul and give his family and friends the fortitude to bear his painful exit. RIP Rico Swavey.”

Daniel Regha, a popular social media commentator said “Rico Swavey’s death is truly heartbreaking, judging by what people say about him, you can tell he’s a beautiful soul; What a loss.
“My deepest condolences to his grieving family. May God strengthen them and help them overcome this irreplaceable loss. RIP Rico. Gone but not forgotten.”
Born in 1993 to a Yoruba Christian family, Rico Swavey was a Big Brother Naija Reality TV star, lawyer, social media influencer, artiste, and actor.
The Law graduate of Babcock University was also into music until he got into the Big Brother Naija Season 3, Double Wahala house.
After his eviction from the show, he starred in some Nollywood movies and Tinsel, a Soap on DSTV Showcase.
