Spotify, a global online streaming platform, says it has partnered with COLORSxSTUDIOS to showcase the smooth melodies of Kenyan Rhythm and Blues (R&B), with six special ‘A COLORS SHOW’ performances.
Monica Kemoli-Savanne, Spotify’s Artiste and Label Partnerships Manager, East Africa, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos on Thursday.
Kemoli-Savanne said this would feature six Kenyan artistes who will showcase best of Kenyan R&B, for the first time ever and take to the infamous ‘COLORS’ monochromatic stage, performing never-before-released singles.
“This is the first time that any Kenyan artiste is performing on ‘A COLORS SHOW’ and we are honoured to have been able to bring this collaboration to life.

“Our mission of elevating African artistes to global stages continues, and we cannot wait for audiences all around the world to discover the amazing R&B talent that Kenya has to offer,” she said.
Kemoli-Savanne noted that as part of the same partnership, Spotify and COLORSxSTUDIOS had a week-long writing camp in Nairobi, Kenya, during the first week of October, bringing together singers, songwriters and producers from Africa and the diaspora.
She said Nairobi R&B fans were treated to a party on Oct. 6, wrapping up the writing camp, and celebrating the genre and it's amazing artistes.
“Afro R&B is one of the growing genres in Africa, and in Kenya specifically, it is in the top five most streamed genres,” she said.
