Davido's recent comments on the Nigerian economy have sparked quite the controversy. In a US interview, he described the economy as being "in shambles" 

And advised Nigerians in the diaspora against returning to the country. These comments didn't sit well with some Nigerians, including prominent figures like Joe Igbokwe and Reno Omokri, who publicly criticized him for tarnishing the nation's image.

Now, Davido claims that there are threats to cancel his upcoming show in Lagos, scheduled for December 24, due to his comments. 

However, he seems unbothered by these threats, stating that he doesn't have to perform in Nigeria. He took to his X handle to express his thoughts, saying "LAGOS DEC 24TH! Dem say dem go cancel my show cus of my interview … loooool I don’t to have perform in NIGERIA"
