A new dance reality TV show, the ‘Naija Dance Show’ is set to hit Nigerian homes with organizers saying that preparations are already in top gear to have a very successful show.
Speaking with our correspondent recently in Abuja, the creator of the show, Mr. Abundance Effiong expressed optimism that the show is going to be the biggest dance show that Nigerians have ever watched on television.
Effiong maintained that the distinct thing about the Naija dance show is the fact that apart from the fabulous prize associated with it, it will also provide an opportunity for the dancemates to be in the house for 53 days.
Mr. Effiong spoke further on the project, “Naija dance show is actually a reality TV show that is going to give the opportunity to young people to be able to showcase their dancing talents. It’s something that has never happened before. Yeah, I'm not saying a couple of good dance reality TV shows haven't been around. The distinct thing about the Naija dance show is the fact that we are going to have dancemates in the house for 53 days living their daily lives in front of the cameras. This show is kicking off from February 3rd, 2022 to March 28, 2022.
“We are going to have activities every day and then we are going to have the best of the best coming to compete. We are looking at giving viewers a show that can really be worth their time and people will have time to vote for who their best dancer is.
“At the end of this show the winner will go home with a brand new car and three million naira cash, but most importantly, we are also trying to make people understand that dancing is not just about moving your body here and there. It is really an act that has to also do with your lifestyle, and career. And you can make real money from it. We are equally looking at making brand ambassadors out of the most outstanding dancers.
“So, when we have this kind of people coming together to showcase their talents every day will be heated up with activities, every blessed day, and every Sunday we are going to have eviction and then we have competition. This is going to run for like I said 53 days which is about eight weeks, seven days short of two months. And there will be nonstop action.
“We are right now at the stage where everything is set for this show to take off. We are going to start our social media campaign pretty soon, our website is almost ready for launch. Everything is set. Different professionals are involved in this show. People like the Mamuze Twins will be the hosts of this show. Esther Ekele, one of the biggest dance names in Abuja, will head the dance instructors. So, at this point in time, all the raw materials for the food are present. We are just looking at who is going to bring in some resources for us to cook the food for the world to eat.
“So, right now we are actually looking for sponsors. Whoever you are, you are a corporate body, you can partner with us for you to be able to have your brands advertised because we are going to stream live from all our social media platforms. If you go to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, you will see the Naija dance show. All our social media handles are there, we are going to stream live on our website, we are streaming live on our YouTube and others.
“We are also partnering with Wazobia Max TV on DStv to show this program. It’s going to be something that if you are a part of it as a sponsor you'll reap your benefits big time. We are targeting eight million voters and a chunk of that can be your customers. We are sure this is going to be very very possible because youths from 17 to 50 love dancing as a show,” he concluded.
