In an effort to boost the capacity and morale of its staff to continue discharging their responsibilities diligently, the Kano State Ministry of Health has promoted its staffers due for.

Speaking during the exercise, the Head of the Promotion Committee, who is the Director Admin and General Services of the Ministry, Shehu Sani Shehu, called on the to-be-promoted staff to redouble commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities for effective service delivery.

The Director reminded them that the present administration of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has placed special consideration to their wellbeing by promoting them at a time when due, and charged them to reciprocate the gesture by effective discharge of their duties as they are expected to, frowning that the ministry will not condone laxity and absenteeism to duty from any staff.

Shehu Sani explained that the promotion is for the January and July 2023, whereas 40 senior and 14 junior staff would be interviewed, graded and promoted after answering questions by members of the promotion committee, adding that cases of change of cadres and conversion would also be treated and deliberated.

The Director urged them to be self-confident, shun panic and answer the questions to the best of their knowledge, assuring them that the questions are simple, straightforward and within the areas of their specializations.

He commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his dexterity in providing the admirable style of leadership that is touching lives of the Kano people, also appreciating him for the considerable attention he accords the healthcare system unprecedented in the state.

Shehu Sani also lauded Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf for providing the needed logistics for the successful conduct of the exercise which is a clear indication that the Commissioner is very much concern and put in his heart the welfare of his staff.

To members of the committee, the Director enjoined them to be steadfast and attend to the to-be-promoted staff with polite and simplicity in order to instil in them ease and confidence to answer the questions meticulously.
