Nigerian Army appoints New Spokesperson, Theater commander for operation Hadin Kai
The New Army Spokesperson, Brig. Gen Nwachukwu
The Nigerian Army has appointed a new Theatre Commander for its operations in the Northeast and a new spokesperson, Timeline.ng sources say.
Brig. Gen. Onyeama Nwachukwu is now the new Army spokesperson, taking over from  Brig. Gen. Mohammed Yerima who became the Army spokesperson early this year when he  took over from Brig. Gen. Saghir Musa.
 
Brig Gen. Nwachukwu was previously, the acting Director, Defence Information (DDI) a position he took over when the then DDI spokesperson, Brig.-Gen John Agim retired in 2019
 
Our sources also confirm that that Maj. Gen CG. Musa has been appointed as the new Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, the Nigerian Army's counter-insurgency operation in the Northeast of the country.
 
Major General CG Musa takes over from the current Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Farouk Yahaya Yahaya who left the position to become the Army Chief after the death of the former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru alongside 10 others including aides and crew when the aircraft they were traveling in crashed in Kaduna.
 
An official statement from the Army confirming the appointments is being awaited.
