SAGE restates commitment to youth empowerment

Abuja, June 24, 2023 (NAN) The Students Advancement for Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE), an international youth empowerment program, has reiterated its resolve to create a resourceful and innovative generation of young entrepreneurs.

In a statement issued by Mr Agwu Amogu, Chairman of the organization in Abuja on Saturday, the organization noted that its youth program in that regard would address the major needs of youths globally.

He said that the organization had been, for many years, engaging young people in a hands-on learning process on how to create wealth, help others and their communities.

Amogu said that the organization would organise 2023 exhibitions and awards to bring together young entrepreneurs from across the country to showcase their businesses and community service projects.

He said “judges will rate the students based on their innovation and creativity, using the global SAGE judging criteria”.

He also said that the competition would hold on the June 26 in Abuja.

According to him, the event will include Fireside chat with top official of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) while the awards ceremony would hold on June 27 at Area Council Service Commission Auditorium, Garki, Abuja.

He explained that some veteran SAGE judges include Amb. John Campbell, former U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb. Oleg Scoropad, former Ukrainian Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Kalu Idika Kalu, former Minister of Finance, Ms Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly, World Bank Country Director, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, former Emir of Kano and Dr Dikko Rada, the Director- General of SMEDAN.

“The first and second placed teams will represent Nigeria at the 2023 SAGE World Cup with the participation of countries including U.S. China, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Ireland, Singapor, Taiwan, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya and Zambia, among others”, he said
